Aspens and Bluebells
While hiking along the Timber Creek trail in the Great Basin National Park last month, I came upon a stream valley that was full of aspens that were just leafing out above masses of bluebells. The sun was setting, and everywhere I looked was breathtakingly beautiful. Several rushing mountain streams converge in the area near Baker Creek trailhead. It would have been nice to stay there a while, but the sun was setting... The photos do not capture the spirit of the place, but I still like them. You need to add soaring peaks, the sound of snowmelt streams, and a sunset to start to get the full effect.
