For some reason, since I started the blog 3079 days ago, I haven't posted a photo of a Red-bellied Woodpecker. These woodpeckers are very common, but they never seem to pose for me. Having a suet feeder changes that, though. This female Red-belly likes my feeder and comes fairly regularly. We have never seen a male Red-belly, though. It makes me wonder whether she has a mate, or if her mate just doesn't like my suet for some reason. The male has a red forehead, while the female just has a red mullet.
