Evening Grosbeaks

Evening Grosbeak, Sac Zim Bog, Minnesota

While at the same feeder as the last post, watching Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers, Pine Grosbeaks, Redpolls, White-breasted Nuthatches, and Black-capped Chickadees feed, I commented that I wished some Evening Grosbeaks were there too. Just then, a large flock of Evening Grosbeaks descended on the feeders. I tried naming other birds, but I couldn't replicate the effect.

However, I was quite satisfied to watch these crazy birds. I had never seen them before, even though they were making guest appearances across the midwest.
