Introducing Laney Hess

Last Saturday, Ben and I went down to Bloomington Animal Shelter in search for a new family member... a dog!  We had originally thought we might get a puppy, but when none of the puppies at the shelter were quite the right fit, we decided to look at a couple adult dogs. When we were looking on Petfinder, "Matilda" looked really sweet and cute to me, so she was one of the dogs we requested to see.  After much consideration over all the dogs we saw, we decided to adopt "Matilda" who we have now named Laney!  Laney is a lab mix and is about two years old.  It is very apparent that she was someone's pet before, even though she was brought to the shelter as a stray.  She is very attentive and takes correction pretty well.  She is super sweet and loving, and she is already house trained and hardly ever barks.  We don't know much more about her past, but we hope she will have a long future with us!  Here are some pictures:

Getting her belly rubbed.  She loves attention!

After a walk on the Pennsy Trail.

She is very interested in Kelso.  She is not sure why we have a "squirrel" in our house!  Kelso doesn't seem to mind her much and feels safe in his cage.

She is such a cutie!  We love the contrast of her white chest streak against her black fur.

One last side note:  We were very impressed with the Bloomington Animal Shelter.  If you are looking to adopt and are in the area, it's a great place to look!
