Blue Racer

I found this guy at Eagle Creek this morning. Every time I find a board or piece of roofing that could shelter a snake, I like to see what might be underneath. This guy proved to be too quick, but I got a blurry picture in before he took off. Blue Racers (Coluber constrictor foxii) are quite attractive snakes.

Cool! I didn't know that blues came down that far. Nice looking snake! Interesting to me, I think the everglades racers (which are not in our part of FL) look more similar to blue racers than any other "subspecies" that I've seen.
