Roseate Spoonbill
We were driving through Cedar Key, when I spotted a Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja) feeding out on a mudflat. Jim did a good job getting the car pulled over without causing any accident. Spoonbills were one of the birds I hadn't seen on this two week stint in Florida. I also missed out all last year with the Spoonbill that was down at Goose Pond in Indiana, so this was my consolation. He was a ways out there, but it was a treat to watch him feed. Hard to say how they stay so clean when they are up to their ankle and beak in mire.
