Introducing Louisiana

Louisiana (or Louie) is one of the first rats we named. In the beginning, we would distinguish them all by some physical characteristic, since we didn't want to give them official names until we knew which ones we were keeping. There were two blond hoodies in our liter, and Ben called Louie, "Louisiana" because her markings on her back looked like the state Louisiana. Once we determined that we were going to keep her, the name just stuck. Louie is a rat that likes to be on the go. She is usually the first to come to you and the first to investigate something new. She is definitely the leader of the pack.

Louie at 9 days old.

Such a cutie and a little more fuzzy at 23 days.

All grow up, but you can still see "Louisiana" on her back.

Here she is begging to be picked up to go somewhere!

Let's go!
