Great Basin Mammals

I am a little late on sharing pictures from my Nevada trip in the middle of June. It was great to get to go back and see everything in its spring glory.

One morning, while driving through the valley, I spotted this badger walking along side the road. I stopped the truck and scrambled like mad to get my camera out and taking photos. Apparently, badgers respond to pishing as well, turning his head, before disappearing into the cheatgrass.

Jack rabbits still acted like jack rabbits, occasionally allowing very close approach. Maybe because there were multiple people, they didn't know what to do. I liked this photo, because it looks like the jack isn't aware of me.

I got a closer look at a Rock Squirrel up in the national park.
