One Spoiled Rat

Scout is our only rat left these days. He is almost 17 months which is pretty much a senior citizen in rat years. He is very well behaved, but has been having trouble getting around lately. So, being our only rat, we have been spoiling him a lot! Scout has always loved vegetables, so when I (Joy) make salads for us, I have been giving him some veggies too. One day, I gave him his own personal salad, and he loved it!

Since he sleeps most of the day, we usually let him spend his time in his favorite place, our rat hamper (or an old laundry basket full of old blankets). When he sees that we are home, he begs to be let out of the cage so he can sleep there.

It is always cute to see Scout peeking over at us from behind his play area. He is such a sweet old rat!
