Spiderwort

Tradescantia virginiana or Tradescantia subaspera
I made my frequent mistake of just looking at the flower, recognizing the genus, and not paying attention to the little details that indicate species. I did not notice the width of the leaves, which is one of the key details. I am not sure if habitat separates the two species or not; these were always near the ridge tops in dense woods in Morgan-Monroe State Forest. I liked the pictures too much to not post them, despite lacking the specific epithet.
