Partridge Pea

Last week, I visited the same JFNew prairie planting in Hamilton County as I did back in July. In July, the second year prairie looked like a sea of blooming Black-eyed Susans. Now, the same prairie is a sea of yellow Partridge Pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata). This site has very good development and for a second year prairie. The low hum of the countless bees became very powerful as I walked out through the flowers.
