Hal Ashton

The plants at the Ashton wetlands in Anderson are looking nice this time of year. One side of the wetland is filled with Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata).
There are a couple Cardinal Flowers (Lobelia cardinalis) blooming on site. Even though I see them frequently, I always feel a temptation to take another picture of one.
One plant that I don't think would have been in the seed mix is Maddog Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora). I don't know why it is called Maddog, but another common name is Blue Skullcap.
Young tree frog watching from an Indian Hemp (Apocynum cannabinum) branch. Not a bad day to be working outside.
