Red-eyed Vireo

Another common bird that I hear and don't see is the Red-eyed Vireo. You can almost make out the red eye, if you use your imagination. Seems like a slight characteristic to name a bird by. It seems about as useful a name as Ring-necked Duck, Red-bellied Woodpecker, and Sharp-shinned Hawk...
