Short-eared Owls at Mt. Comfort

The Short-eared Owls at the airport were putting on quite a show this evening. There are at least five of them, and they were very active. They were "barking" to each other. This owl even caught a rodent and flew off with it. You can see it in his beak in the middle photo. I highly recommend seeing them before they are gone, since they may not be back next winter.

Sweet! Lindsay and I have seen Short-eared Owls once, just southwest of Walkerton. We were told they were there, so we went to see them after I got off of work. At around dusk, a large owl flew in front of our headlights.... that was our look. Your looks were much, much better. Nice photos.
