The Monumental Marathon

Saturday, I ran in the first Monumental Marathon in downtown Indy. It was fairly well designed and a well managed course, plus the weather was good for spectators. I would have appreciated cooler weather, but it was not bad. Meridian street between 38th and 10th is not very inspiring, but that is only a minor complaint. I had a goal of making a 4:00 marathon, but that will have to wait for another marathon. Here is the Results page. I placed 884th in the marathon. I crossed the halfway mark right at 2 hours, but I physically crashed after the 14 mile mark, maintaining a 13 minute mile pace for the second half. I finished in 4:49 chip time, having mixed emotions.
