Prairie Warbler
The warblers and birds in general have been just awesome this past week. I have been busy working in eastern Ohio in the field, but studying bird songs is sure paying off. This was a Prairie Warbler that posed for Neill and I. He landed really close, but I couldn't get the picture off in time. I love their song and they are pretty. The scrubby areas were full of Blue-winged Warblers, Prairie Warblers, Common Yellowthroats, Nashville Warblers, and Yellow Warblers. The woods were full of Ovenbirds, Palm Warblers, Black-throated Green Warblers, Northern Parulas, and Yellow-rumped Warblers, with occasional Hooded Warblers, Cerulean Warblers, Black-and-white Warblers, Louisiana Waterthrushes, and Tennessee Warblers. I love warbler time of year.
