Black Rat Snake Up Close

I like to take pictures of snakes, if you can't tell. I liked the way his scales reflected light in the close-ups. This guy was being pretty photogenic and calm, until I touched his tail. (Note the strike position in the top photo.) He even rattled his tail against dry leaves as a warning. Photos taken in Hamilton County, Ohio.
