Environmental Surveys - Eastern Ohio

Delineating a wetland; using my Munsell.
Sitting by a stream doing paperwork. It sure was cold, but it is nice to be outside. Finding the right place to sit makes all the difference.
Another old barn in a valley.
Eastern Ohio is pretty hilly. That means there are a lot of streams to map and document. It snowed on us a couple days last week. Here are some views of old barns in the snow.
One day a friendly farm dog followed us while we did our work. I think he was very excited to have someone to explore and play with. Of course we had to take time to play fetch and tag with him. He even climbed some barbed wire fences to stay with us. Eventually, he went back home.

Hess, you really picked the better enviro company to work for. The phrases "sit", "explore" and "take time" were unfamiliar concepts in my experience, sadly. Not many good field memories (except commiserating over how much it SUCKED.)

I will post my comment under a pseudonym to protect my identity from former employers....

How nice to see snow! Here it is a week before Christmas and we're still having warm weather here in New Jersey. A few weeks ago it got so warm after we received a frost that a lot of the spring flowering trees and shrubs flowered!
