The Adena Trace

Thursday, Regan and I went hiking with Andrew and Ben Irwin on the Adena Trace, near Brookville, Indiana. The trail circles the lower half of the Brookville Resevoir. We did the 10.5 mile western section, from the dam on the southern end to the Fairfield causeway. It was a good trail. It is supposed to be the longest trail in Indiana out of sight of buildings and not crossing any roads. The weather was good. A couple creeks were high and one we had to throw a log across to make a bridge. You can see Regan crossing the creek in the second picture. We got to see some wild turkeys, heard a great horned owl, and saw a bald eagle.

I like how in the first picture i look just as tall as Andrew and Ben. The hike was fun, I think it had to have been longer than 10.5 miles though. My favorite part was when i saw the wild turkey before anyone else (that usually doesn't happen). Crossing the swollen streams was also really fun too.
