Eastern Nevada Flowers part 1

I have not had time to figure out the wild flowers yet. Feel free to comment with suggestions and check back at the blog to see updates. It is fun to see flowers in the desert.

Bastard Toadflax (Comandra umbellata)
I never realized how widespread the bastard is. It has been reported from every state except Hawaii, Louisiana, and Florida. I have seen it in fens in Indiana.

I feel like someone is watching me...
These little cacti are scattered vary sparsely across the valley. I usually only see one a day; each day walking many miles looking down. I have tried for a while to figure out what species this is. I haven't even gotten consistently to the same genus.
