Skiing in Michigan

While in Michigan, we had the opportunity to go skiing. We rented some cross country skis and explored a nearby park, Grass River Natural Area. It was a beautiful snowy place with a trail to a small lake.

Our Group: Ben, Joy, Megan, and Paul

This old railroad bed was perfect for cross country skiing!

The next day, we headed over to Schuss Mountain to enjoy a day of downhill skiing and snowboarding.

A cute snowy couple.

Another cute couple. We thought this bench was cool because it was made out of skis!

Boyne Highlands

This past weekend we went with some friends to Boyne Highlands in Harbor Spring, MI. We had a great time and really enjoyed all the fun snow activities!

Here are the slopes at dusk.

All the girls going out for a night ski! It was a lot of fun.

Riding the lift to go tubing.

A group shot of the down hill skiers!

I had so much fun skiing! If only we lived closer to some decent slopes!

Cross-country Skiing

Red-breasted Nuthatch

Paul and I went cross-country skiing for the first time on Saturday. It was fun to learn and the trails were nice. It took some learning to figure out how to go downhill in a controlled manner.

Skiing

We went skiing in Telluride. It was Joy's first time to ski. She was really nervous, but she enjoyed herself. The scenery was incredible.
