American Avocets

One bird that was pretty high on my top 15 birds to see on my Colorado trip was the American Avocet. Occasionally, they'll show up in Indiana, but I have never gotten to see one. They are so graceful and striking, I am glad we got some close looks. We saw this pair and several other at Arapaho NWR near Walden. The wildlife there was great.
